EON Overhaul is a fan patch in progress by Shiri. The details can be found here: https://docs.google.com/document/d/1v... It's still in progress, but Zodiac is one of the classes that is more fully complete, including in-game skill descriptions and such. You can also find such classes' skills on skill simulator: https://shiriow.github.io/overhaul/eox/ The idea here is basically throwing Refraction Nova on the down turns, using Meteor to proc weakness hits (+ Ricochet but I forgot Target Goggle so Charged Fire is doing the job for now) and using Solstice Volt when I want high damage right now. Binary is used to clean some souls. I originally got had Penetrator (which now has 100% chance when maxed) but then I thought I may want to renew Astral Fire on souls, so I got rid of it. Then it turns out that I actually don't end up using Astral Fire on souls -_-;;;;; Gunners are also not using Charged Shots because it got changed to something different - something that requires any bind for bonus damage (think Bindcut in EO3). Trying ailment/bind on Abyssal Princess is asking for Unholy Light so I didn't bother here. Shogun/Zodiac is doing Shogun/Zodiac things - negate elemental skills and buff when it has a turn or two. Note that Great Warrior (well, Great General) now works on all forms of damages. I think this is kinda strong, but we will see. Zodiac's Prophecy got reworked to work for all 3 elements, which is very nice. We also have Wall-like skill (Flux Absorption), which absorbs from level 1. The SP pre-req is still hefty (actually basically the same as grabbing triple Prophecy in vanilla game) but the skills are pretty nice. As a downside, these now specifically require Staff to be equipped so you will need to spend a slot for Staff. Not a problem for support-oriented Shogun/Zodiac. Onto main Zodiac... in hindsight, perhaps Shogun sub with Bloody Lance/Felling Bird (renamed Peerless Demon) may have been better, as I am sweeping the souls here and there. I opted for Hero for cheap/simple damage boost and a little bit of trickle heal (so not necessary here but whatever). Ronin's stances got reworked to constantly switch over = Stance duration got nerfed so that's meh, and due to the Singularity now having Reserve Magic-like effect when it comes to element calculation, Landsknecht sub is kinda eh as well - though here I probably would benefit from at least one for Proficiency. Burning force then Cloning is probably also very feasible, since Zodiac's TP pool/restoration skills can easily overcome the TP penalty of cloning. Honestly, it'd be a lot better than hogging around that second Gunner - Z/N could go something like Prophecy/Break/Clone in the first 3 turns. Refraction Nova is Altar-like skill, but it differs in that it is almighty on its own and it lands at the end of 3rd turn, as opposed to Altar's start of turn. I haven't done a lot of testing for intricacies but Refraction Nova might be benefiting from damage boosts used just before it lands? At least Shogun's Force Boost might be applying to it. I'd need to test that specifically. This skill maxes at 800%, which is pretty crazy. Astral Fire is an attack skill that lets Zodiac enter stance sort of like Upper Stance, in that it boosts damage. It's decent damage boost (modified by Guiding Star, which doubles as TP Up) and is a state, so that's pretty nice. It enables two skills, Umbrel Ice and Solstice Volt, both of which will end Astral Fire when used. One is for TP regen and the other is heavy damage (600%!). Given that Zodiac's Astrosign is 800% damage at max, you can see how strong Solstice Volt is. As for Charge skills, this Zodiac lost the charge skills it had in favour of Prophecy/Dark Matter (Dark Ether + mild charge effect to self). The base damages have been compensated to bring charge modifiers more in-line with other classes, which also grants some freedom on Zodiac's rotations. And Zodiac does need that here - the new skills are shiny and pretty fun to use. It's like elemental-focused Omnimancer, if you know what I mean. I haven't really used everything here. Aspected Veil is sort of like a counter buff (think EO4 Dancer) but is a targeted buff and also imbues all 3 elements to the target's weapon. That sounds pretty crazy and fun, if not a little overpowered. In other vector, Zodiac can probably even be a really good TP battery via Aether Leak. Pulse Star didn't see a use but that's new and improved Ether Shot here, with debuff attached. In any case, it's still WIP but I do like the new Zodiac design - much more than EOX's design at least. Also doubles as Citra Canary test. Canary 1587. MP4, NVIDIA NVENC H.264 encoder (h264_nvenc), profile:high, 8000000 bitrate, AAC 192kbps. 4x resolution, Linear Filtering, Disk Shader cache, Single Screen, Hardware Renderer/Shader on, Accurate Multiplication Off, Shader JIT/VSync on, HLE audio, default CPU slider.
