In 1959 the old Popular was replaced by this the new version that was in production until 1962. Like the previous version it used a superseded Anglia body shell, this time that of the 100E, and this one is powered by the strengthened 1172 cc side valve engine producing 36 bhp. New brakes came with the 100 E being improvement from the previous model with the benefit of hydraulic assistance and 8 in drums all round. When introduced in 1959 this car cost the equivalent of 26 weeks wages which in today's money makes this a great value affordable classic.
