嘉華集團旗下嘉華建材完成其在安達臣道石礦場逾半世紀的商業開採經營，將礦場交還予香港特區政府。 1964年嘉華成功投得安達臣道石礦場的開採權、成為香港首間取得採礦牌照的本地公司，開創機械化採礦之先河，於過去逾半世紀更一直為本港多個大型基建及房屋發展項目供應優質石料產品，包括啓德機場、赤鱲角新機場、青馬大橋、三號幹線、紅磡海底隧道及西區海底隧道、東九龍一帶及九龍灣至觀塘海濱道石壆等填海工程等，爲香港的建設和繁榮發展擔當了重要的角色。 K. Wah Group’s construction materials business K. Wah Construction Materials Limited, in concluding its commercial excavation and operation work at the Anderson Road Quarry stretching over half a century – returned the site to the Government of the Hong Kong Special Administrative Region (“HKSAR”). K. Wah was the first private enterprise awarded a quarrying rights contract in Hong Kong; gaining access to the Anderson Road Quarry in 1964. Since then, K. Wah has established an exemplary model in the industry with its pioneering efforts in implementing automation equipment. For more than five decades, K. Wah has supplied premium aggregates to large-scale infrastructure and housing projects in Hong Kong, including Kai Tak Airport, Chek Lap Kok New Airport, Tsing Ma Bridge, Route 3, Cross-Harbour Tunnel and Western Harbour Crossing, reclamation works along Kowloon East and the kerb of Kowloon Bay to Kwun Tong Hoi Bun Road. The Anderson Road Quarry has thus played a pivotal role in supporting the development and prosperity of Hong Kong.
