Dominion Road is by far our favourite street in Tāmaki Makaurau Auckland to grab a bite. If we are out of ideas on where to eat- Dominion Road is where we head. There is a spot to suit all budgets and tastes and this gem of a food street has seen some awesome new additions from a pho recipe which has travelled from Hanoi, Vietnam all the way to Aotearoa New Zealand, to traditional Italian gelato to a style of Thai eating which is delicious and affordable. These new spots along Dominion Road are worth your time and money. Check them out! What we ate and where we ate it: 1. Khao Gaeng by Kiin, 299 Dominion Road, Mount Eden, Auckland 1024. Open Thursday to Tuesday 11:30am to 3pm and 5pm-9pm. All small dishes $12.90 2. PHỞ YẾN, 617 Dominion Road, Mount Eden, Auckland 1041. Open Thursday to Sunday 11am-2pm and 5-8:30pm. Pho Buoi Bo (pho with 2 oxtail) $29, To Xe Lam (pho with brisket, rare beef and beef balls) $25 3. Bear Gelato, 327 Dominion Road, Mount Eden, Auckland 1024. Open Wednesday and Thursday 6pm-10pm, Friday and Saturday 3pm-10pm and Sunday 3pm-8:30pm. Gelato $8 for a single, $11 for a double (premium flavours add a $1) Disclaimer: Despite every effort to pay in full for our meals- Khao Gaeng charged us only half the bill and Pho Yen and Bear Gelato refused to take payment.
