So, today is Decode Day which is a celebration every year started by GMDNoice in 2019 where on March 11th the Geometry Dash community all tries to beat Decode by Rek3dge. It was even the weekly demon in 2021. Even though Decode Day is March 11th, the level actually came out around November 23rd 2014 so it’s actually 10.5 years old now. As for the actual level, it’s ok. It’s definitely in the cream of the crop as far as 1.9 levels go, but there’s still a lot of finicky & specific timings you’d only notice actually playing the level, not just by watching a video & a lot of fakes throughout the level you have to learn as well. You especially need to learn the click pattern for the UFO at 62% & really practice the infamous 82% wave to the end because those are definitely the 2 hardest parts of the level. Overall though, once you learn all these timings it’s a pretty enjoyable level & I can see why it got 20th place in the top 100 Geometry Dash levels of all time. It’s not one of my favorites but I still had a decent time beating it. Part of that is probably because I only died to the 82% wave once from 0%. If I had gotten more unlucky with this level & died a lot more to the end I could definitely see myself having a worse opinion of it. Overall though it took me 1,181 attempts to beat & is my 297th demon level I’ve beaten so I’m closing in on 300 very soon.
