I'll walk you through the step-by-step process of replacing it with the Kidde Model Number 30CUA10-V. Although the plugs are different, the main body of the two alarms is the same, and they will still communicate with each other. I’ll explain how I trimmed the safety latches off of mine to avoid rewiring, but please note: I do not recommend this method because the wire could fall out of the plug and cause a false signal.
