How to Replace Kidde Combo Smoke & Carbon Monoxide Alarm | Kidde 120105CO to 30CUA10-V In this video, I'll show you how to replace your Kidde Combo Smoke and Carbon Monoxide Alarm (model 120105CO) that was giving off false alarms early in the morning and waking us up. I'll walk you through the step-by-step process of replacing it with the Kidde Model Number 30CUA10-V. Although the plugs are different, the main body of the two alarms is the same, and they will still communicate with each other. I’ll explain how I trimmed the safety latches off of mine to avoid rewiring, but please note: I do not recommend this method because the wire could fall out of the plug and cause a false signal. For a safer and easier installation, you can purchase an adapter plug for just $4.97 on Amazon (Kidde model number 20-9003) to connect these two models. At the time of editing this video, the adapter was available, which would have made the installation simpler, but I did not find it initially, which is why I opted to trim the latches. 👉 Disclaimer: Fix It John and affiliates are not responsible or liable for any loss or damage caused by your understanding or interpretation of the information in the videos.
