This video shows some of the features of my newly purchased Rigol DG4102 100MHz Function/Arbitrary Waveform Generator showing its internal AM, FM, and 4FSK modulation capabilities. Purchase of this unit completes my $3000 lab setup as I retire from regular employment in the RF industry to pursue my other interests such as a bit of travel, taking hikes during uncrowded times of the week at local, regional and national parks, growing flowers and vegetables in my garden, and doing some volunteer work now that I have more time and a fully flexible schedule. This unit appears to provide stable, accurate source signals for my radio-electronics hobby needs and I plan to make some frequency converters for the unit to cover other bands and frequencies as time goes on. As purchased the 4102 covers Audio, Video, HF / Shortwave frequencies, 6 Meters, and the lower portion of the FM Broadcast band. P.S. I should point out that the Phase Noise level shown in this video is actually the phase noise of the DSA815 Spectrum Analyzer, not the DG4102 Waveform Generator. The spec for the DSA815 is -84dBc/Hz while the specified phase noise for the DG4102 is -114dBc/Hz thus the DSA815 is really unable to 'see' the actual noise from the 4102.
