Here is a tour and demonstration of two fluorescent wraparound light fixtures in my bedroom. One is a Lithonia Lighting 'Wraplite' fixture, model 3200. It was originally a dual-lamp F40T12 fixture when I got it from a ReStore, but it has since been upgraded to a dual-lamp F32T8 configuration. The original ballast was a Pacific Lighting EN-234-TP craptastic low power factor magnetic rapid-start ballast, which failed after a few days. Next, it was replaced by a Magnetek 446-L-SLH-TCP, which failed coincidentally (or not?) right after the fixture suffered an unfortunate fall back in June. The latest ballast is a Valmont Electric 8G4126W F32T8 rapid-start magnetic ballast, a very unique item. Unlike popular belief, F32T8 lamps are not strictly for use on electronic ballasts, and you could actually get magnetic ballasts for them at one point. It's like combining the best of both worlds, reliable ballasts from T12s and high efficiency from T8s. The two lamps in the fixture at the moment are a GE F32T8-SPP30-ECO and a GE F32T8-SP41-ECO. The other fixture is a Metalux WN fixture. I got it for free from an antique store. It is a dual-lamp F40T12 fixture. It came with a dead Advance electronic rapid-start ballast, but I replaced it with a GE UltraStart GE240PSMVN-DIYL programmed-start electronic ballast. This ballast has a very unique startup sequence to it. There was evidence that the fixture had a magnetic ballast inside at one point; leaked tar inside the ballast channel when I got the fixture. The fixture came with two 12/95 GE F40C50 lamps, one of which was at EOL. I fried that one to vacuum loss a while back. The other is still good, so I am using it in the fixture it came with. The other lamp is a GE F40CW/C41/ECO.
