VW T5 Daytime Running Lights LED Bulbs. How to replace VW T5 Daytime Running Lights with LED Bulbs. The VW T5 LED daytime running lights are on all the time the ignition is on and go off when you put on your sidelights or headlights. Fitting the VW T5 daytime running bulb is fairly straightforward. The standard VW T5 Daytime running bulbs are 12V21W each so that's 42W of power being used with the ignition on and the engine not running. Personally I don't like them (but they are law) so in this VW T5 Bulb video I will show you how to remove the daytime running bulbs and replace with LED bulbs, ideally use LED Canbus technology equivalent bulbs as this will take much less power from your battery. It must have Canbus otherwise the computer thinks the bulbs have failed as they draw much less power! LED bulbs should last longer and give a nice ice white light but they are more expensive than standard filament bulbs. . Note: LED bulbs on older vehicles can play havoc with your Dashboard lights so be warned, may be best sticking to normal bulbs. .
