On Saturday, February 14, 2026, the King Sejong Institute Riyadh hosted a successful Korean traditional dance workshop at the Prince Sultan University aerobics studio. Led by instructor Ju Song‑yi and guest teacher Park So‑young, 16 Sejong students learned foundational postures, footwork, and hand gestures, experiencing the aesthetics and expressive techniques of Korean dance. The workshop featured choreography practiced to popular K‑drama OSTs, which energized participants and helped them develop emotional expression and stage presence in a familiar musical context. Lessons combined concise theory with step‑by‑step practical drills, enabling beginners to follow along comfortably. Through repeated practice, students demonstrated marked improvement in technique and confidence. The event was organized by Culture Coordinator Jung Hyo‑jung, with Bae Eun‑bi volunteering to assist instruction and safety. One participant noted, “I was nervous at first, but the teachers’ patient guidance let me feel the deep emotion of Korean dance.” Instructor Ju Song‑yi highlighted future possibilities, saying a strong grounding in basics can lead to broader Korean dance repertoires. KSIR said the workshop aimed to broaden cultural experiences and deepen understanding of traditional Korean arts. The Institute plans to continue offering diverse cultural classes—including Korean music, dance, and crafts—to introduce Saudi students to a wide range of Korean cultural expressions.
