On February 7, 2025, C. S. Rangarajan, the head priest of Chilkur Balaji Temple near Hyderabad, was attacked at his residence by a group of approximately 20 individuals. The assailants reportedly manhandled him over a "religious issue." Following the incident, Rangarajan filed a complaint with the Moinabad police. Subsequently, the police arrested one person, identified as Veera Raghava Reddy, in connection with the attack and are actively seeking to apprehend the other suspects involved. Soundararajan, the convenor of the Temples Protection Movement and father of Rangarajan, stated that certain individuals claiming to be descendants of the Ikshwaku clan aimed to establish 'Ram Rajya' and had allegedly formed private armies to punish those who did not align with their mission. Rangarajan had declined to associate with them, which purportedly led to the assault. The incident has drawn condemnation from various quarters. Bharat Rashtra Samithi (BRS) leader Dasoju Sravan Kumar denounced the attack, emphasizing Rangarajan's dedication to protecting spiritual values, Sanatana Dharma, and social justice. He urged the Director General of Police to take immediate and strict action against the perpetrators. #trending
