Anupriya Bannerjee is the founder and Creative Director of Doctor Drama, Ms. Anupriya M.Banerjee has explored the landscape of theatre, dance, media and therapy. Her educational background includes a Bachelors in Psychology Honours from Delhi University and a Diploma in Journalism from NDTV Media Institute. She is the first native of India to receive a Master’s degree in Drama Therapy from New York University (2016). She employs techniques of theatre, art, music and dance with individuals across ages and disabilities. She has worked with patients diagnosed with acute forms of psychosis and chemical dependency in New York based mental health hospitals. She’ll be talking about what drama therapy is and how it can be used for self care and treating mental disorders. Accompanying her is Pranjali Chauhan, a 23 year old eco-stat graduate from Xavier's who's been training with the Danceworx Performing Arts Academy for two years now in Jazz,Ballet, Contemporary and Urban. She has performed for Sephora,Masaba Koovs, Bombay fest to name a few. Anupriya Bannerjee is the founder and creative director for Doctor Drama. She employs techniques of theatre, art, music and dance in the process of mental healthcare with people across ages and abilities. She has worked with patients diagnosed with acute forms of psychosis and chemical dependency in New York based mental health hospitals namely Lenox Hill Hospital, Kings County Hospital and Brookdale Hospital. Currently she is collaborating with Parikrama (Mumbai) to work with geriatric populations across the state of Maharastra, India. She also does 1:1 sessions with adults experiencing depression and post-traumatic stress responses.
