Scottsdale Airport (KSDL) | The ULTIMATE Guide to Flying In and Out Plus Transient Parking Tips

Fly with us into super busy Scottsdale Airport onto Runway 21. We’ll show you where to find transient parking, talk about FBO fees and give you a peek into how intense flying into this airport can be. PROHIBITED PROCEDURES For a list of prohibited procedures please visit this website: http://bit.ly/3FgXYbY CURFEW (VOLUNTARY) Scottsdale Airport has a voluntary curfew from 10pm – 6am everyday. TRANSIENT PARKING There is transient parking available and located on the north side of the runway in front of the Prism Jet hangar. However, Atlantic Aviation also uses the transient parking for their single engine customers. PLEASE NOTE: You do not need to pay Atlantic Aviation fees to park here. Let Atlantic know you are utilizing airport transient parking. Transient Parking is $5/night for single engine and $15/night for twin engine. Fees can be paid at Atlantic Aviation or in the Administration Building. FBO There are three FBOs Atlantic Aviation, Signature Aviation and Southwest Jet Center. We chose Atlantic Aviation for this trip. We were parked and chocked at the transient parking area. Atlantic did not provide a golf cart transport to the FBO (this is typically reserved for their jet clientele). The FBO has snacks, an espresso machine, a custom sparkling water dispenser and a nice selection of ice cream bars! Breakdown of fees for our Piper Arrow III for February 2025 (2 night stay) $42 Facility Fee (waived with our fuel purchase) $15 Security Fee Piston $10 Parking Fee Airport ($5/night) $48 Parking/Tie Down ($24/night) $253.39 (27.1 gallons @ $9.35/gal) $327.69 TOTAL (including sales tax) FUEL There is no self-service fuel available at Scottsdale Airport. You will need to coordinate avgas purchase with an FBO, either Atlantic Aviation , Signature Aviation or Southwest Jet Center. Avgas is pricey at KSDL. RESTROOMS Restrooms are located inside the Administration Building and inside the FBOs. CREW CAR / CAR RENTAL All FBOs have crew cars available for a 2 hour limit. The crew cars are on a first come basis and this is a very busy airport. Atlantic Aviation can coordinate a car rental for your visit if needed. Otherwise rideshare is your best option for getting around Scottsdale. We coordinated our own car rental through Enterprise and had them drop the car off at Atlantic Aviation. Here’s what we paid for our car rental for our 2 night / 3 day stay at Scottsdale: $153.51 FOOD Volanti is the restaurant on site. They are located east of Atlantic Aviation FBO. The food is highly rated. Volanti sits above the US Customs and Border office with balcony seating overlooking the entire airport with a great front row view of all the action. Reservations are recommended. Volanti also offers orders to go and jet catering. There’s an incredible plane spotting observation deck right next to Volanti Restaurant. The observation deck is accessible from the streetside of the Administration Building (east of Atlantic Aviation). Find the exterior staircase and you’ll be treated to really cool views of all the action from above.
