(21 Jun 2014) Pakistani officials were on Saturday investigating a bomb attack near a shrine in Islamabad, which left at least 40 people injured - four of them critically. Police officer Mohammad Akram confirmed the figures, adding that a home-made bomb had been planted near a tree in the courtyard of the shine of Chan Pir Badshah. Around 200 people were commemorating the death anniversary of local Sufi saint Baba Nangay Shah when the explosion happened. Some of the crowd were inside the shrine and others were in the courtyard. "I was (in the courtyard) looking for some food and as I was walking toward the cook to ask him if the food was ready, suddenly, I heard a big explosion. I was shocked and people around me were crying and running away," said witness Shahzad Khan. Shah Zain, another witness, added: "Those involved (in the blast) are against Islam, those people are infidel, terrorists. No Muslim has the courage to do this type of activity." It was unclear who was behind the blast. Pakistani media reported that the attack happened around 2200 local time (1800 GMT) on Friday.
