Taking a look at the Vidco Copy Cart for the Atari 2600 - a device that can copy almost any Atari game to a re-writable cartridge for play on your system. In this video I reminisce on my first Atari system, when I first picked up this device and take a look at how it works and even what is inside the copy cart! It seemed like there are no videos on YouTube covering this odd device, so I wanted to put something together to talk about it and show off what it does. There doesn't seem to be a lot of information out there on it, either. There's probably some areas that could stand a better deep dive, such as more history on the publisher, Vidco. I'm sure some people would like to see the internals of the duplicator as well - I may open that one at some point, but I hate to peel the S/N sticker. If you enjoy, please leave a like and/or a comment and please share! Let me know what you think in the comments - was there something more you wanted to see or know? I'm still learning my way around making videos. NOTE: Thanks to user Chip over on Mastadon for this information on that mystery chip in the copy cart: "Some clarification on the chips - the 4011 is a logic chip, a quad NAND. https://en.wikibooks.org/wiki/Practic... 8316 is the date code - 16th week of 1983."
