“Hang On to Your Love” – Instrumental Mix (1983) This instrumental version of “Hang On to Your Love” by Sade was recorded at PowerPlant Studios in early October 1983, shortly before the singer signed her solo recording contract on October 19, 1983. The recording comes from one of the reference tapes provided to the band by the producers after the backing track had been completed. In this version, Stuart Mathewman can be heard freely improvising on guitar, giving a rare glimpse into the creative process behind the song. This track captures how the original Sade lineup sounded live in 1983, showcasing the authentic energy of the band during the formative Diamond Life sessions. The accompanying photographs were taken at Solid Light Studios, Camden, London, where Paul Cook contributed to the creation of all the hit songs featured on Diamond Life.
