The Ultimate Showdown: XY Ford Fairmont vs HQ Holden Monaro is these mates have a friendly rivalry to out do each other in performance and speed. So lets get into it. Wolf and Simon are the best mates, however, they are always competing against each other other on the drag stripe and always trying to add more performance without the other knowing. So lets kick it off with Wolf's XY Ford Fairmont that is called Explosive and then move over the Simon's HQ Holden Monaro. Wolf owns this XY Ford Fairmont that he fully restored to his specifications as the vehicle was pretty rough with wiring issues and electronic problems when he got it. However the Body was pretty sound and was a great starting point. Simon who own Woodley's Car Workz did most of the restoration and panel work in his garage before he started his own shop for vehicle restorations. The restoration took a couple of thousand hours on the body work and paint which was about 16 years ago. He has also dreamed of owning a XY Ford like this after seeing a XY in the same paint combination in Street Machine and he was hooked. The XY is Paint Black with Silver that is accompanied by Street Pro Wheels that always look great of these Muscle Cars. The XY Ford is running a 434 Stroker Windsor that was built by Derek Paulik and it pushing out around 700 Horsepower at the rear wheels. The block came from the United States, with CVR water pump, 3VT manifold with Holley 1000 on it and 1 10 duration Nitrous Cam. To support this engine, it has C4 / C10 gearbox with trans brakes which has be super reliable on the strip and of course the 9" diff. This XY Ford Fairmont is set up and ready to rock on the track. Wolf has loads of people to thank for the restoration of the XY Ford Fairmont and appreciates everyone that help him out. When Simon got the HQ Holden Monaro is was a wreck after he fully restored the HQ for a Mate of his, however, an unfortunate accident happen and the car was damage. So Simon could pass of the vehicle as he know he could restore it. So he restored the cat again and painted it cool silver with black offset. The HQ has been restored as a Monaro GTS mock up but its stunning. The HQ Running a 434 Small Block Chevy in a Dart block with 950 Quick Fuel Carby and the engine was built by Derek Paulik as well. The engine is supported with a Turbo 400 transmission with 42 stall and trans brake for racing, plus a 9" diff to top it off. Old school performance Muscle car at it best. Both Wolf and Simon Race at the Perth Motorplex at Whoop Arse Wednesday where mates vs mates on the drag strip. They have a great friendly rivalry and as much as Simon hates to admitted it, Wolf has about 100 more Horsepower on him in the XY. However, Simon's HQ is faster off the tree start but the torque of the XY catches him at the moment. So Ford is winning this round but Simon has plans to get the Holden back on top.
