MC Bia Z.O. is a black woman living in the ghetto of Franco da Rocha who dreams living as an MC in the brazilian funk music scene. Meanwhile, she faces a demanding routine as a salaried worker who lives far from her job, but clings to her faith and her friends, with whom she shares her dreams, to not give up. Project funded through the Paulo Gustavo Law grant. The film premiered on July 12, 2024, National Funk Day, in the outdoor area of ​​the Marielle Franco Cultural Center in Franco da Rocha. Malokera also toured several cities and states in Brazil through shows and festivals and was screened at the Lift-Off Global Sessions in 2024. Malokera is about the struggles of women from the favelas of São Paulo. The film pays homage to the medley as a survival style for funk music, at a time when quality musical productions are still a challenge for artists from favela.
