Blockhead (let's just call him Bloc, shall we?) is a particularly handsome adult male Grey-Headed Flying-Fox who was hanging on barbed but not entangled in the barbs. So this means he has chosen to hang there, probably because he was too concussed to climb the tree, which was a lot smoother and harder to climb than the fence. I was very surprised when he didn't fly off when I got close. Once I was on the ladder and grabbed his foot, he wasn't able to escape but he made the token try to flap, hoping I'd let him go. I doubt he'd have gotten far. So he's in care and I don't know how he's going to go yet but we'll see how he is overnight. The best bit was that he wasn't entangled in the barbs. He was named for the location BlocHaus Bouldering. I was going to call him Blockhouse but Blockhead seemed a little more apt at the time since he's a bit la-la.. I expected the rescue would be at a stonemason' place,, from the name but no, it's a climbing gym So here's hoping he's a survivor.
