Trekking on Zanskar River. The canyon formed by the Zanskar river offers the only route that connects the Indus valley with that of Padum for a short period of the year. In the most pristine part of the immense Tibetan territory, located at the extreme North of India between Himalayas and Karakorum, Padum, the regional capital, in winter it remains isolated from the rest of the world because of the snow, the only way of communication is to walk the Gorge of the Zanskar River, when it is frozen, for one hundred and more km ..
