2016 - Jebel Shams, Oman

As part of our 11-day road trip down to Salalah, Oman, Mae and I spent the first two days at Jebel Shams, Oman's tallest mountain at 3,009 m (9,872 ft). The first day we spent the night on top of the mountain where we camped on the edge of the canyon. The next morning we drove to the base of the mountain to hike the canyon itself. We spent the day hiking up a small creek which collected into pools and even had small fish and frogs in them. Towards the end of the hike there was an old abandoned village that we walked through and explored. This was a really cool place!
