Ingo Boss was born in 1979 in Frankfurt am Main – right in the heart of Germany’s electronic music scene. At just eleven years old, he was captivated by a new sound called techno that he heard on the radio at the legendary hr3 Clubnight. Two years later, he discovered the art of mixing on two decks – and with it, his lifelong passion for electronic music. Deeply inspired by Sven Väth and the legendary nights at Frankfurt’s Omen club, Ingo began shaping his own musical identity early on. What started as fascination quickly grew into a calling: turning nights into stories told through sound. In 1997, he joined Delirium / Frankfurt, one of the most influential record stores of the 1990s, where he also completed his vocational training. Immersed in music day after day, he developed the refined ear and instinct that still define his work today. His first gig followed in 1998 at the short-lived U-Bahnstation Miquelallee. Two years later, he became a resident at Spectrum@MTW, an event series by GROOVE magazine, and released his debut production Modes with Denis Engemann on PV Records. In 2001, he toured nationally and internationally with PV Records and Delirium. Since then he played at many clubs in Europe and a few times in Tokyo / Japan. From 2002 to 2004, Ingo held a residency at Frankfurt’s U60311, before moving to the legendary Cocoon Club. His connection to Cocoon would last until the very end — he played the final four-hour closing set in November 2012, marking an emotional farewell to one of Frankfurt’s most iconic clubs. Ingo’s breakthrough as a producer came in 2003 with his EP Transistor on Cocoon Recordings, featuring the goosebump-inducing track Little Eternity, which found its way onto Sven Väth’s mix CD Sound of the Fourth Season. Since 2015, Ingo has shaped Cocoon Recordings as its A&R, channeling his deep musical sensibility with an instinct for timeless electronic music into the label’s DNA. His DJ sets are journeys through sound – from Ambient and IDM to Detroit grooves, raw Techno energy, and unexpected vibrant Electro gems. Every set tells a story: heartfelt, driving, and always true to the moment. His music reflects his experience, passion, and genuine love for the craft — music with heart, depth, and soul.
