Magna Carta is a peace treaty that was made between King John and his subjects in 1215. It was intended to put an end to civil war. This iconic document is seen as a great great grandfather of all legal innovation that's followed since. The Arts and Humanities Research Council (AHRC) is marking the 800th anniversary of the #MagnaCarta by publishing a new film which examines how academic research is critical in underpinning a major exhibition at the British Library. This short film shines a light on the AHRC-funded Magna Carta Project – a landmark research project which has brought together the UK’s leading #medieval experts to apply the latest research techniques to Magna Carta - one of the most famous documents in the world.
