Tokyo Swan 30: Tokyo Anime Fair 2008

Went to the Tokyo International Anime Fair 2008 with Kris. It was held at Tokyo Big Site, which I instantly recognized from the anime/manga Genshiken (an anime about anime fans). The convention was packed with thousands of people scrambling around trying to take in all the company booths from Gainax to Bandai, and catch a glimpse of the latest anime series. Some of the anime on display included Death Note, Detective Conan, Ultimate Muscle, Gundam, Haruhi Suzumiya, Lucky Star, Soul Eater, to love ru, pokemon, naruto, digimon, astro boy, as well as fun cameo appearances by statues and costumed employees ranging from the furry creatures of Studio Ghibli, to Goku from Dragonball Z. It was an awesome time, and certainly well worth visiting. Like any convention, we got loads of free stuff, saw some cool cosplayers (though at this convention the public is not allowed to cosplay), and got very tired from it all.
