I needed to do a tuneup on this 2004 LeSabre, and I wasn't sure if I was going to have to put the car up on stands in my garage to access the rear bank or not, so I shot this video to record the process. The process isn't much different from any of the other 90s and early 2000s GM cars these Buick V6s came in. To complete this job, you will need Spark plugs. I used ACDelco 41101s An ignition wire set, in this case ACDelco part number 9746DD. When I recorded this last year, this particular LeSabre at about forty thousand miles on it, mostly by its original owner, who drove less and less as she got older. As best as I can tell, all these tune up components are original, so as a precaution I also ordered up a set of wires to do the job. A 3/8” drive ratchet. I’m using a flex head ratchet, which helped due to its… flexibility. Probably not a must, but you’ll probably have to fiddle with u-joints and extensions to have the same effect. I used a 2-inch extension to help get to the plugs. A 5/8” spark plug socket. You could use a deep 5/8’s socket in a pinch, but know that it is every easy to break the porcelain insulator on a spark plug with a regular deep well socket. If I had a nickel for every time I’ve done that over the years, I wouldn’t be posting videos on YouTube. Apart from getting the plug wires off the old plugs, the job wasn't too bad. It is difficult to get a good grip on the boots, and unlike the front of the motor everything back there cooks due to a lack of airflow.
