@satsmotors / satsmotors SUBSCRIBE NOW! https://bit.ly/2VwQ178 Wanted to check few things on the broken A16LER (It suppose to be Z16LER in Corsa OPC) before I build a new engine for it. Checked the cylinder head to see if the valves were leaking, measured the OEM piston ring gaps and looked at the fuel injectors. Two exhaust valves were leaking. The first piston ring on all the pistons where gapped really tight. Injectors looked like new and were replaced for the bigger Ferrari 599 ones. This was done by the previous owner with the E98 tune. There are several things that could be wrong. First of all may be the OEM piston is really weak and will break easily. Second thing might be the piston ring gaps but I doubt it. Third thing might be the tune. Fuel mixture might be too lean at some loads. But the most realistic would be that when this engine was swapped in to the Corsa it already had an damaged piston. The E98 tune and bigger injectors help to keep the right fuel mixture. But the damage got worse over time and finally the piston broke and the cylinder lost it's compression.
