The ex-Virgin DVT will be at the Bo'ness and Kinneil Railway for about 18 months to be modified by its owners, Artemis, as part of a development programme for a new generation of DMUs. The Scottish Railway Preservation Society has reached agreement with Artemis for them to use Bo'ness and Kinneil Railway facilities to assist with their development programme and to provide a test facility.The (DVT) is a Driving Van Trailer a purpose-built railway vehicle that allows the driver to operate a locomotive at the opposite end of a train. Trains operating with a DVT therefore do not require the locomotive to be moved around to the other end of the train at terminal stations.
