Sweden, Umeå: October Bike Saturday Part 2 of 3 - Strömpilen

This is part two of three that will take you from Nydalasjön/Nyadala lake to Strömpilen down by Umeå river and finally the center of town on an early Saturday afternoon in October. All year people use the area to run, walk and bike. Even ski once the snow falls. One more abandoned rented electric scooter. 05:34 Here's where you can turn right to go to Nydalahöjd. 08:25 The roundabout where yo can turn right to Ålidhem or left to Tomtebo. 09:45 Left to Carlslid or right to Ålidhem. And I am back on the correct path. 19:29 In the distant the bridge crossing the Umeå river. But I'll stay on this side. 21:24 Arriving at Strömpilen shopping centre where you have some new and quite a lot of old buildings that once were part of Sofiehems träsliperi where they made pulp from timber. (Swedish only) 23:50 If you listen closely you can just about hear the birds that have gathered in the river to fly south and not come back until springtime next year. 26:45 There is also various industries and comanies here. 27:51 Including Japanese Komatsu! :) All the way on the right 29:27 Saturday so nobody is working today and it is closed. 30:39 And I'll finish this video with a view of the large supermarket Ica Maxi and the hamburger place named Big Boy. As you can see Umeå is a bike friendly city with separate bike lanes so you rarely have to mix with cars.
