South Africa Now | 25 March 2026 In today’s update, major incidents, protests, travel moments and scenic views are captured from across the country. In the Eastern Cape, a fire is reported at the Botha Sigcau Building in Mthatha. In KwaZulu-Natal, a truck accident is seen on the N2 in Madanyini, while coastal scenes include beach views from Shelly Beach and Durban. In Limpopo, taxi operators protest and block roads in Polokwane, demanding permits from the Department of Transport, causing disruptions in the area. In the Western Cape, travel conditions are affected as rocks fall and block parts of Meiringspoort. A fuel shortage is also reported in some areas of the province. Coastal and tourism highlights include views from Mykonos Resort in Langebaan, the V&A Waterfront in Cape Town and visitors exploring Robben Island. Additional moments include a drive through Cape Town streets and a beautiful sunrise in Plettenberg Bay. In Gauteng, public transport activity is captured as the Gautrain passes through Marlboro Station in Johannesburg. In the Northern Cape, city scenes include views from Kimberley along with a musical performance by the Sol Plaatje University choir. Additional highlights include scenic views from the Gariep Dam and cultural and historical visits to the South African Naval Museum in Simon’s Town.
