Story behind: Free I knew I wanted to make a song based on Viren’s arc. Viren is one of those characters that I was conflicted with because on one hand I understand why he did what he did but on the other it’s like how far would you go to protect the ones you love. I just love Viren and his VA Jason Simpson is amazing. An absolute legend. When making the song I kind of wanted it to sound like another song I produced titled “What is Done”. I felt that it be fitting to have it be like a companion to that song. Originally this was supposed to be on the countdown but unforeseen circumstances that affected timing just didn’t work out. But here it is now! Also the song did go through a lot of changes in almost 2 weeks. I removed the drop elements (snare and percussion) because it just didn’t sound right to me. I think I prefer the kick even if it does sound repetitive, I just couldn’t bring myself to love the drop. So that’s why there’s only a kick. But I am curious to hear your thoughts on how you feel about the song and what would you remove or even add! What’s Next: New music inspired by Season 7 and past seasons will be released throughout the coming year. And I hope we get arc 3 of TDP. But nonetheless the journey continues!
