The episode concerns Paul Brandt (played by the poor man's Don Grady: Wright King) being lured into the Communist web on a college campus by the attractive Sandra Thompson (played by Patti Kane). Paul's father, Carl (played by future Sgt. Hans Georg Schultz, John Banner), is a prominent lawyer and is concerned about his son's associations. Carl Brandt's secretary, Jeanne Dawson, is played by Eve Brent who later played Blue Boy's mother, Mrs. Carver, in the infamous Dragnet episode "The LSD Story." "The Red Trap" won an award from the Freedoms Foundation at Valley Forge.
