Plastic Surgeon Adrian Richards talks about the different appointment options at Aurora Clinics. http://www.aurora-clinics.co.uk/ Hello, my name is Adrian Richards, I am a consultant plastic surgeon and clinical director of Aurora Clinics. So in this video I am just going to talk a little bit about appointment options, so what options are there available if you would like to talk to a plastic surgeon about a particular procedure if you are considering it. The first thing to say is Aurora Clinic have a network of Plastic Surgeons around the country, so each of the major centers we have specialists which are handpicked for their specific interests so we have eyelid specialist, tummy specialists, facial specialists, breast specialists, so each specialty is covered and in plastic surgery particularly cosmetic surgery there is a trend away from plastic surgeons performing all treatments plastic surgeons tend to focus on an area to really get as good as possible on the best possible treatments for that area.Our aim is to provide you with expert plastic surgeons in a location near you that focuses and is really experienced at the treatment you're considering. So how can you have a first consultation, what options are available to you? Well the traditional option is to come in and meet your plastic surgeon in person and that certainly is possible that is the way that we prefer to do it, you would come in have a consultation with your plastic surgeon and they will be able to talk to you about the options, show you before and after pictures, go through the options available and the likely result and explain the recovery period and also importantly discuss complications that can occur following surgery so that you are as well informed as possible. Now coming in to see a plastic surgeon may be a step too far many people like to have an initial chat about the procedure first before committing to a consultation. We can do that in a number of ways, we have a number of information CDs which we would be happy to send to you if you would like to learn more about the procedures and also we have lots and lots of videos letting you know what is involved in these procedures. Other options might be talking to one of our specialist plastic surgical nurses some people feel more comfortable just in the initial stages talking to a nurse rather than a plastic surgeon just to get a flavour of what is involved in the procedure and more and more often we are also doing video consults so either on Skype or via say page which is a facility which you can schedule a video consultation with one of our plastic surgeons. So in a video consultation you can either see a nurse or a plastic surgeon or a combination of both and we will be able to do an online consultation for you. We do of course like to see you in person before we perform surgery but a video consultation is often a really good way of us getting to know you and you getting to know us to see if there is a mutual fit and if you feel that plastic surgery or this particular procedure may be appropriate for you.
