Prayer: That we understand fasting is about seeking God with all of our heart, mind, and attention. It's not just about food and not eating. Call to Action: The next time we fast, to make God the center. Where no food, entertainment, or distractions pull us away from His presence. Fast with the right motive! Why are you fasting? It's not to get something from God, or to get closer to God? True fasting is quiet, humble, and driven by genuine hunger for God. It’s an intimate moment between you and your creator, where you empty yourself of everything else to be filled by Him. Isaiah 58:6 says Isn’t this the fast I choose: To break the chains of wickedness, to untie the ropes of the yoke, to set the oppressed free, and to tear off every yoke? This is what happens when fasting in a good heart combined with pure intentions produces. It becomes powerful, not performative. It breaks chains, restores focus, and reawakens your spirit. It’s not just abstaining from food, it's feasting on God’s presence above all things.
