Various of people and rubble at scene STORYLINE: Israeli jets Monday struck villages in southern Lebanon targeting what the military said was military infrastructure belonging to the Hezbollah militant group. The strike on Ain Qana and Kfar Tibnit in the Nabatiyeh province came following a warning from the Israeli military’s Arabic spokesperson Avichay Andraee for residents to flee the area. No casualties were immediately reported. The building collapsed in a cloud of smoke, before paramedics and civil defense workers rushed to the scene to put out the fire and rummage through the rubble. Shrapnel of the projectile could be seen scattered in the vicinity of the attack. Elsewhere, Israeli drone strikes targeting vehicles killed one person and wounded eight others in Sidon and Tyre provinces, Lebanon’s Health Ministry said. Israel has been striking southern and eastern Lebanon near-daily, accusing Hezbollah of trying to rebuild its military capabilities. It comes after a Washington-brokered ceasefire that nominally ended monthslong war in November 2024. Lebanon’s leaders have vowed to disarm all non-state groups, including Hezbollah, across the country, but accuse Israel of violating its side of the agreement with its ongoing daily strikes and continue military presence on five hilltop points near the border on Lebanese territory.
