China Concentration Camps: How Forced Labor Creates Large Profits for the CCP

In this video, we’ll discuss forced labor productions in China’s prisons and labor camps. This issue has raised awareness since some consumers found plea-for-help notes in made-in-China products. And one of the most famous cases was the Masanjia Labor Camp.Prisons in China can be a low-cost alternative for companies to outsource production. The prisoners are often forced to work very long hours with very little compensation. The heavy workload has even caused death. Those who refused to work or did not meet the production targets were often physically tortured. According to the Laogai Research Foundation, China’s state-owned prison enterprises have existed since the Mao-era. Laogai is a Chinese word invented by the CCP, meaning reform through labor. And based on partial 2019 data from the WOIPFG, China had 681 state-owned prison enterprises. According to China's Ministry of Justice, in 2013, China had 1.8 million prisoners. The CCP’s forced labor products has been flooding the markets. It has made the countries that protect workers' rights appear less competitive. As a result, it has reduced job opportunities in those countries.And the more the world buys from the prisons and re-education camps, the bigger and more powerful the system will likely become. The CCP and those involved in the system will be the only ones getting the benefits in the long term. More importantly, forced labor and slavery are unethical. What other countries can do is to introduce legislation that stop any forced labor products from being imported.
