• Nicolino Locche vs Takeshi Fuji Series Free Weekly Newsletter: https://www.boxingnotebook.com Boxing Patterns – A Partner’s Guide: https://boxingnotebook.substack.com/ 1. Lead Foot Setup and Rear Foot Push • Nicolino steps into his lead foot, initiating the sequence. • Rear foot swings around to load the position. • Before Nicolino jabs, Takeshi drops off to his right side, slipping the line. • Takeshi fires an overhand, but Nicolino—loaded on the lead—pulls to the rear foot, rolling with the shot. • Head ends up over the rear foot, setting the rhythm. ⸻ 2. Jab Mechanics and Weight Shift • New angle shows Nicolino’s jab mechanics clearly. • Weight fully on lead foot, rear foot comes off the ground. • He pushes off the rear, lifts the lead, and fires the jab. • If Takeshi throws his overhand here, Nicolino has an escape route—a pull back to that rear foot. ⸻ 3. Jab Variations and Lead Hook to Body • Nicolino throws a jab without rear foot push—a “folded out” jab. • Takeshi doesn’t react. • Nicolino resets: pushes off the rear foot, steps big with the lead, and throws a lead hook to the body. • Head is once again over the lead foot. • Takeshi drops for the overhand. • Nicolino pushes off the lead, pulls to the rear foot, weight fully back. • Notable: rear foot swing as he resets again for another lead hook to the body. ⸻ 4. Lead Hook → Rear Cross Sequence (Timing Detail) • Nicolino again pushes off the rear foot, throws the lead hook. • Takeshi catches it on his lead foot—a solid defensive idea. • Nicolino follows up with a rear cross aimed at where Takeshi’s head currently is—over his lead foot. • Hypothetical: Takeshi could throw a check hook on the same beat, as Nicolino commits to the cross. • Nicolino’s head would be over his lead foot—right in the path of a check hook. • Takeshi’s head would pull to his rear foot—safe zone. • Takeshi doesn’t fire. Nicolino lands the cross. • Takeshi throws his leaping hook on the next beat, but Nicolino has already pulled back to safety. ⸻ 5. Bob and Pendulum Movement • Takeshi steps in with the lead foot and throws a leaping hook. • Nicolino bobs down over the lead, then shifts to the rear, pendulums right—away from the attack. • As mentioned in Round 1—he drops and pendulums in the direction of the incoming shot. ⸻ 6. Jab → Slip → Leaping Hook → Pull • Takeshi steps in, slipping inside as Nicolino snaps off a jab. • Takeshi looks to land a leaping hook to the body. • Nicolino’s head over the lead foot, rear elbow tucks to catch the hook. • Takeshi follows with an overhand, Nicolino pulls to the rear foot, weight completely back. ⸻ 7. Similar Setup – Counter Layers • Again, Nicolino jabs as Takeshi slips inside to the lead. • Takeshi loads and fires a leaping hook to the body. • Nicolino attempts a lead counter. • Takeshi jabs, Nicolino drops under, and gets caught with a rear uppercut to the body. • He drops under Takeshi’s lead hook, pulls to the rear foot to roll with the overhand. • Key Detail: Nicolino is controlling Takeshi’s lead arm. • As Takeshi goes for another overhand, Nicolino gains control over the rear arm too. ⸻ 8. Pendulum Again – Lead Cross Exchange • Takeshi plants the lead foot and pendulums to the rear, throwing a rear cross. • Nicolino pulls to his rear foot. • Then he shifts to the lead foot, bobs down. • Takeshi looks for the lead hook, but Nicolino is already penduluming to his right. • He follows with a lead hook to the body. ⸻ 9. Combo Exchange and Slip Hook • Nicolino throws a lead hook to the body. • Then: jab, leaping hook, rear cross—a fast combo. • Takeshi counters with a leaping jab. • Nicolino slips inside and catches him with a hook. ⸻ 10. Rhythm Work and Parry • Nicolino plants on the lead foot, fires off a jab. • Then a lead hook, followed by three folded jabs. • He parries the counter. • Finishes with one more jab for punctuation. ⸻ 11. Overhand Read and Pull • Takeshi steps with the lead foot, slips under Nicolino’s jab. • Once planted, he fires the overhand right. • Nicolino pulls to the rear foot, loads the shift to pendulum out. ⸻ 12. Final Clip – Defense Layered on Defense • Takeshi pushes off the rear, jabs to the body, follows with a rear cross. • Nicolino pulls to the rear foot, catches the body hook. • He controls the rear hand as he steps his lead foot back. • Takeshi throws hook–cross; Nicolino pulls, drops, then pulls the short right. • Drops again under the hook. • End of Round 2. #boxingnotebook #nicolinolocche #takeshifuji
