In this video you will be shown how to find out what the scale in a graph is going up in. To find out the value of 1 small square divide the increase by how many squares there are between the increase. So in example 1, the x axis number are increasing by 10 each time and there are 5 squares between each number. Therefore divide 10 by 5 which is 2. On the y axis the numbers are increasing by 20 and there are 10 squares between each number. So divide 20 by 10 which is 2. So each little square is worth 2. In example 2 the numbers along the x axis are increasing by 1 and there are 10 squares between each number. 1 divided by 10 is 0.1. On the y axis the numbers are going up in 5 and there are 10 squares between each number. 5 divided by 10 is 0.5.
