State Courts Medley (arr. Darius Lim) - Voices of Singapore Community Chorus

The State Courts Medley is a medley of Celine Dion’s “The Power of the Dream” and the popular Singapore National Day theme song, “We Will Get There”. The piece was commissioned for the Singapore State Courts opening ceremony that was slated to take place in early 2020. Singers involved in this project completed a full rehearsal at the venue, before rising local cases in the early months of COVID-19 cancelled most official gatherings, the opening ceremony included. The Voices of Singapore Community Chorus brought this arrangement to a live audience once again during their inaugural concert in 2022, "Concert of the People". The Voices of Singapore Community Chorus brings together Singaporeans from all walks of life. With no barriers to entry, the 180-strong non-auditioned ensemble, fondly called the “Chorus of the People”, welcomes people of all abilities: regardless of race, language or religion.
