Pap (Jerry Wilson) was born today (July 16th) in 1937. He has been gone now since April 19th, 2016. Of course, we dearly miss him, and we are thankful to have his music here with us to enjoy and cherish. Most importantly, we are thankful for what he is singing about in this song! This is another cut from the little solo session I had him do one Saturday morning around 2005. I set up two mics, one for his guitar and one for his vocal. He ran through 5 hymns, only stopping in between songs to move his capo when necessary. I think he did a great job on this song. Tipper let me borrow her fancy camera, and I set it up looking down the valley toward Brasstown from the back parking lot of Martins Creek School. I filmed the sun coming up between about 6:30 and 6:50 and sped up the footage. The cloud cover obscured the sunrise a little, but I still thought this was fitting footage for this great song.
