Debut release from this overlooked Swedish hardcore punk band. This 7" was released in 1983 on Massproduktion Records, the same label that would continue to release the band's material into the early 90's. More aggressive than early Swedish bands like Asta Kask, Krunch could be lumped in with the early examples of the Swedish sound like Anti-Cimex, but they don't really fit. When I first heard them, I honestly thought they were Finnish because they reminded me of Terveet Kädet or Appendix. Krunch had some other 7"s and full-lengths that are also pretty good. That said, looking at the quality of the songs and great sounding recording, there is no reason why "Hello Bob" shouldn't be considered a classic Swedish hardcore record. Krunch really stands apart from their contemporaries though, especially for their warped sense of humor in their lyrics and artwork.
