As our boat sailed from from sunset to dusk and from dusk to night, through the city’s industrial, green and architectural landmarks, so the music journeyed through different emotions and expressions. This trip was our own private alternative ceremony of letting go and inter-connectedness, of openness and love.. a celebration of our vibrant community where sexuality, colour, gender/non gender, age and physical appearance are only covers, sometimes given, sometimes chosen. Once these covers are realised for what they truly are, we can then play with them, remove them and even, perhaps, transcend them. Papa Loko will keep providing us with the safe space to do so and the music will always be a major catalyst.
