In this video Mike Maggs of the Maggs Golf Academy explains how to get considerably more distance with your Driver and cure your dreaded slice at the same time. He does this by what he calls the "Ironman drill" which references the superhero movie. Just like Ironman, the middle of your chest is the key to your power. Sensing where your center gravity or middle of your chest is throughout the driver swing is incredibly important. If on the downswing your chest quickly moves down from the top of your back swing and points directly at the ball you're going to come across the ball with an open club face and slice it big time. If instead you place a tee 5 or 6 inches behind the ball and try to get your hands and arms pass the middle of your chest right at the moment they are both pointing at the tee 5 to 6 inches behind the ball then you will hit up on the ball with a slightly closed club face from a slightly inside path, which creates a powerful high draw gaining 10, 30 or even 50 more yards off the tee. Mikes simple drill cure you of your stubborn slice.
