"OffTheCharts!" has moved to http://offthechartsradio.com/ ! Listen to more like this for free ! HP Lovecraft was a Chicago psych band that formed in the 1967. The name was taken from H.P. Lovecraft, an American author of science fiction and fantasy stories. As HP Lovecraft, the band recorded two self-titled albums ("Lovecraft" in 1967 and "Lovecraft II" in 1968). They also released a single, "The White Ship", which was one of the author's stories from 1919. They disbanded in 1969, but members George Edwards and Micheal Tegza, formed a new band in 1970, and dropped HP from their name. As Love Craft, the band changed their sound, adding funk to their psychedelic roots. As Love Craft, they were a "one album wonder", "We Love You Whoever You Are". Two Promo singles were released from the album. The other was "I Feel Better". Because of low sales, Mercury Records dropped the band from their label and Love Craft disbanded a short time thereafter. © 1975 Phonogram, Inc.
