On International Women's Day, I found myself in the heart of the movement marching alongside powerful women in Mexico, demanding justice. Their voices, their pain, their fight it’s all rooted in a brutal reality that too many choose to ignore. 💔 10 women are murdered in Mexico every single day. 💔 In 2024, over 733 femicides were officially registered by November, and the real numbers are likely much higher. 💔 66.1% of Mexican women over 15 have experienced violence—physical, sexual, or psychological. These are not just statistics. These are lives stolen, mothers grieving, daughters living in fear, sisters screaming for justice. And yet, the world stays silent. But change is coming. For the first time in history, Mexico has a woman president. President Claudia Sheinbaum has promised to push for gender equality, equal pay, and stronger protection for women. And the women of Mexico? They are not waiting they are rising. This fight is not just theirs. It’s ours. As Indigenous people, as women, as human beings we cannot let this be forgotten. The erasure of women, the silencing of their stories, the systemic violence, it’s all part of the same colonial wound we are here to heal.
