We started the day with delicious breakfast tacos (in those yummy taco bowls I mentioned in our shopping video (    • Shop With Me + CLEARANCE Target Finds! Bud...   ). We head out to the amazing 2-story visitor center to decide what trails we'd like to explore, and have lunch at a shaded picnic area overlooking the gorge. We first hiked Conkle's Hollow gorge trail. It was paved 90% of the way & easy to navigate with kids. The last section of the trail, that takes you to the waterfall is compact dirt as well as some rocks, boulders & tree roots. This section was a little more difficult - but still easy enough for Zoey to lead the way! Unfortunately, this waterfall was the first we saw - and where we crashed our drone! :( We got some beautiful footage, but for the rest of the trip the drone was dead. We were so heartbroken! Our next stop was Ash Cave, where we took another paved gorge trail to the cave & 100ft tall waterfall! The sheer mass of this cave is something we couldn't capture on video - it was unexplainable. Heading back to the car we took the steps that led behind the waterfall & up to the rim trial. We were able to see the top of the falls before heading back down a dirt path to the parking lot. These two trails are MUST DO's on our list: family friendly, easy to navigate, extremely well kept, restrooms at the trailhead & immediate payoffs. All the things you want on a hike with kids!
