In today's video I want to put some focus on the other player I mentioned briefly in yesterday's video - Connor McDavid. In the grand scheme of things, Hockey cards seem to occupy the 5th rung on the sports card market ladder - it's behind Basketball, Soccer, Baseball and Football. However, that doesn't mean there isn't value to be had in this market. No matter how you look at things - greats will be greats, goats will be goats. No matter what the sport. When it comes to Hockey rookie cards, most people will gravitate to the Upper Deck Young Guns cards. This is probably one of the first sets most people recognize in the Hockey market. In this video I wanted to look at an alternative McDavid rookie card: The 2015 O-Pee-Chee Platinum Marquee Rookie Card This is basically the Topps Chrome for Hockey. A few things I found interesting with this card: there is a huge price discrepancy with the raw cards for this set vs the Young Guns, the pop count is low and the gem rate is low as well (when compared to the Young Guns). As always we will be pulling up some data from the various websites I like to use to see if this card has some value. Personally, I feel that this card has great value. However, this is just my opinion. We pulled up the data to allow you to determine yourself if you feel it has some value. These are just my thoughts and just as I did my own research, I would advise you to do the same as well before pulling the trigger.
