This 1985 Corvette belongs to my dad so any time it needs repairs or upgrades I step up and get it taken care of for him. The car is powered by a 383 stroker small block chevy with a 90's vintage (yes 90s stuff is vintage now...) Holley Pro 4 Throttle Body Fuel Injection system that despite it's age works pretty well and with a air fuel ratio gauge is easy to keep in proper tune. The car uses a Doug Nash 4+3 manual transmission which is essentially a T 10 with a overdrive so it makes for a fun ride and is very road friendly. I lowered the car (see my C4 lowering videos) around 3 inches and we installed 2012 Corvette Z06 wheels for the right stance and look. While driving the rear of the car began to feel loose and wobbly so up on the lift it went where I inspected the rear suspension and found that the upper and lower control arm bushings were worn out allowing the rear wheels to move all over. I show how to change the bushings using basic tools that can be done in your driveway. I use polyurethane bushings and don't have problems with them. I do not care to argue the pros and cons of rubber vs poly or heim joints etc... Use what you feel comfortable using. My parts choices meet the demands of the vehicle I am working on.
