Final scrimmage from the training session — Green vs Pink, with Pink starting on attack. In this final phase of the session, both teams were allowed to choose and run their own defensive systems. Green elected to play an M-Zone defence, while Pink organised themselves into a 4/5 zone structure. Allowing players to select and run their own defensive strategies helps them take ownership of the game and understand how different systems function during live play. It also challenges the attacking team to recognise the defensive setup quickly and adjust their approach. During this scrimmage the focus was on: Identifying defensive structures in real time Adjusting attacking shape and ball movement Communication within the defensive unit Shot selection and defensive pressure These types of open scrimmages give players the opportunity to apply tactical understanding while developing leadership, communication, and game awareness.
