This is a build process video showing some of the construction of the original model as well as some of the work done in wax before it's cast in sterling silver. It's an example of how with a little design forethought, you can make life easier for yourself when it comes time for reproduction. This hollow form casting worked because there were lots of points throughout the design to allow and hold the investment around the model. For example, if this had been a solid surface model with only the eye sockets as an opening to the centre, those points alone may not have been strong enough to hold the core during casting. If the core breaks free inside the investment-filled mold during the burnout or casting process, then it'll be free floating and the piece will not cast properly. This was shot and edited on a iPad. Create with what you have. Your greatest tool is your mind.
