The Spalding / Rigdon theory of the origin of the Book of Mormon can be overwhelming to understand. In this video, I walk you through the strongest evidence for the theory. Rigdon was a highly educated preacher, well read, in his mid-30s, and the best Bible scholar in the church. Spalding was a well read, Dartmouth educated Reverend. Joseph Smith had a rudimentary education, was not well read, and was a 20 year old treasure digger / seer. How close were Rigdon and Joseph? Did Rigdon and Smith co-run the church? We know that Rigdon worked on the Joseph Smith Translation of the Bible and received many revelations in the D&C. Could he have re-worked Spalding's manuscript into the Book of Mormon?
